The practice runs the following clinics:
Our diabetic clinics are held at the surgery weekly and are run primarily by Practice Nurses. Many diabetic patients will already be attending this clinic and others the hospital clinic. If you are diabetic and attend neither clinic please contact your doctor urgently. Some hospital patients may benefit from attending the surgery clinic particularly if they experience difficulty in getting to the hospital or if their diabetes is relatively stable.
We would encourage all patients who suffer with asthma to attend one of our clinics. This gives you an opportunity to discuss the management of your asthma, and will also improve your inhaler technique. We would ask all asthmatic patients who are not attending hospital clinics and particularly those on preventive treatments to attend an asthma clinic at least once a year.
If you require a cervical smear or would like a health check with particular emphasis on female health matters (ie menopause, breast examination) please make an appointment.
Antenatal/child health surveillance and immunisation
These are held twice weekly with the doctors and midwife in attendance.
All patients over the age of 65 or who suffer from significant disease eg diabetes, lung, heart or kidney disease, are recommended to have annual vaccination to prevent influenza (flu). Flu clinics are held annually between September and December. Please ask at reception for details.
